MOBILE NETWORK TECHNOLOGIES (MNTD)

Professionals who know how to operate and manage mobile communication networks are in high-demand around the world, as countries and companies look to upgrade existing networks and upgrade to the latest technologies. This program provides participants with the theoretical knowledge and practical training they need to develop a career in this field.

Program Requirements
Candidates for the certificate must complete:

  • Four core courses 
  • Two elective courses (can be chosen from another program)
  • A final project
 
Core Courses

MNTD 010
 MNTD 010:  Introduction to Mobile Communication 

This course covers the basics of mobile communication and cellular networks, focusing on 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks.

MNTD 020
 MNTD 020:  2G “GSM/GPRS” Planning and Optimization

This course examines 2G networks and focuses on key topics related to their use and optimization.

 MNTD 030 MNTD 030:   3G “UMTS” Planning and Optimization

This course examines 3G networks and focuses on key topics related to their use and optimization.

 MNTD 040MNTD 040:  4G “LTE” Planning and Optimization

This course examines 4G networks and focuses on key topics related to their use and optimization.

 
Elective Courses (Choose two from the following, or choose one and take one from another professional program):


 MNTD 050 MNTD 050:  Mobile Networks Circuit/Packet Switched and IP Networks

This course focuses on circuit and packet switched technologies, as well as value-added services.

 MNTD 060 MNTD 060:  Transmission and Mobile Network Backhauling

This course focuses on the key topics related to transmission and backhauling.

 MNTD 070 MNTD 070:  Mobile Network Rollout and Implementation 

This course provides participants with the knowledge they need to become mobile network radio or rollout engineers. Participants will also learn how to perform drive test post-processing and other tasks related to becoming a field drive tester.

 MNTD 080 MNTD 080:  Antenna Acceptance and Practical Network Performance Assessment

In this course, participants will apply the knowledge they learned in the core courses to perform network assessments using professional software.
